The Henry Jones is Australias first dedicated art hotel, and one of a handful of art hotels in the world. Created within Hobarts oldest waterfront warehouses, the Henry Jones Art Hotel merges historic and modern, blending the original 19th century architecture of the city with ultra-modern design and contemporary art. Located on Hobarts waterfront, the Henry Jones site dates back to 1804 and was once the location of one of Australias most successful companies-H. Jones and Co. Ltd.

But by the late 1990s, the property was abandoned and languishing in neglect, until award-winning architects Morris-Nunn & Associates won the right to revive the historic site. By 2004, this former jam factory had been transformed into a sensitively re-imagined, distinctive, five-star hotel. Art and design are woven into the fabric of the Henry Jones. The hotel partners with a diverse range of Tasmanian artists to present a continuously changing exhibition of over 400 artworks.
